I started this blog ten years ago. Oh my goodness, has it really been ten years? You can read my very first blog post here. I never thought that it would last this long. I don't post as often as I used to (thanks to Facebook) but I'm definitely not ready to stop blogging. Here's to another ten years.
I haven’t posted here in quite a while. 2015 has brought a lot of changes and I just haven’t felt like blogging. I had worked on six or seven posts but just never got around to uploading them. I have entered and back-dated these entries so you may wish to scroll back to February to review all of the posts that I just entered.
Bill started a new job mid-Feburary. He had been with his previous company for 28 years but when the right opportunity presented itself, he decided to make a change. A new job is stressful to begin with but it’s been even more stressful as they are currently going through a system conversion. Long hours and working at home in the evenings has been an adjustment. Luckily, the “go live” date is just around the corner so things should settle down soon and he can actually start focusing on his regular day to day job responsibilities. I joke that he hasn’t even really started his new role yet as the focus has all been on the conversion.
On the morning of Sunday, March 15, Bill’s mom passed away unexpectedly. She had had heart problems years ago but had been in good health in recent years so it was quite a shock. She and my father-in-law had just arrived back home from Florida the previous Tuesday. For the past 10 years or so, they spent October to March in Florida, escaping the cold and snow here in St. Louis. They have made many friends in Florida and Bill’s dad is planning to return there this fall. It’s been a very difficult 3 months but he seems to be doing well. Please keep him in your prayers.
My mom went into the hospital on April 10 and is currently receiving physical therapy in a skilled nursing facility. We’re hoping that she will be able to return home in the next few weeks. My mom and dad are preparing to make a big change in their life, moving to a retirement community in the near future. It’s a difficult change but one that will make their lives easier.
Yes, I still stamp although I’ve spent very little time in the Blue Heart Studio these past few months. I have new stamps sets that have yet to see ink but I’m planning to change that hopefully starting this weekend. Silly me, I forgot to take pictures of the mother’s and father’s day cards that I made.
So, that’s what’s been going on here. The Muny season started last week so I’ll be posting about our first show in the next few days. Until then…
I've been wanting to change my blog banner for quite a while and I finally got around to actually doing it. I went to Shabby Blogs and downloaded a template, added "Mynee's Musings" and "Blue Heart Studio", resized it and voila, I have a new banner! Let me know what you think!

I don't seem to stamp as much in the summer as I do during the rest of the year. I guess because I spend more time outside and I'm just busier during the summer. That being said, I do have a card to share today...
I love this swirl image from The Paper Company. I bought the set a few weeks ago. Swirls and flourishes are "in" right now and they're so versatile and fun to use.

What a title. OK, I'm on vacation today. That takes card of the first part of the title. It's nice outside and I'm planning to grab my Ipod and do a little yard work today. As for tweeting, well, I'm on Twitter now. I'm not sure what I'm doing and it appears to be much like the status updates on Facebook but, what the heck. I want to be current...hee hee hee. I've added a Twitter update to my blog (see left column). Last but not least, beer. We're going to a new microwbrewery tonight so be sure to check back for details.

Well, the weatherman was right. We got snow! We have about 2 inches so far and they are predicting another 3 to 4 inches before it ends. I'm so glad I took a vacation day today.
I learned something cool last night...I can assign my posts to more than one catagory! I'm not sure how I missed this fun fact. I mean, I had seen other people do it but I couldn't figure it out. It's helps to read the instructions...hee hee hee. Anyway, for example, if I write a post about a show at the Fox and also mention where we ate dinner, I can assign it to "Fox Theater" and "Dining." In the past, I would just pick whatever catagory I talked about most in that particular post. This post will be filed under "weather" and "my blog." I'll eventually recatagorize all of the posts, however, that will be an ongoing process.
OK, I should probably go shovel the driveway before the next round of snow starts falling. Later...
My post dated 5/20 disappeared (see below). The date and catagory are still listed but the post itself is gone. Typepad made some changes and apparently they are now exeriencing a few problems. I sent a message to tech support asking that they look into the issue but I haven't heard from them yet. I'm hoping that my post can be restored but if not, I'll just rewrite it. Stay tuned...
