Stan Musial was laid to rest today. The funeral was broadcast on the local Fox station but I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I did record it and will watch it eventually.
We drove down to Busch Stadium after dinner last night to stop by Stan, the statue. If you are meeting friends at a game, you always say, "Let's meet at Stan." Of course, everyone meets at Stan so it's a miracle that you are actually able to find your friends...hee hee hee.
Stan loved The Cardinals and he love the fans. He made his last public appearance at Busch Stadium. It was October 18, 2012 for Game 4 of the NLCS. We were there. It brought tears to my eyes and he rode out onto the field. It made me realize how many years he has been part of The Cardinals and part of St. Louis. Here's a video from that game...
There will never again be a player as amazing and as well-loved as Stan Musial.
