Bill's Card & Merry Christmas

Here's the last card in my 2012 Christmas card series.  It's the card I made for Bill...

Ingredients: 

Card Stock - Very Vanilla, Real Red Glimmer and Silver Glimmer by @Stampin' Up

It's hard to see in the photo but the embossing and the red glimmer paper are definitely sparkly.  :)

We spent the day at Lisa and Randy's.  My mom and dad were there too.  We ate, opened presents, laughed and just had a great time.  The weatherman was predicting snow but luckily, he was wrong and we were spared.  A white Christmas may be beautiful but it makes for hazardous driving!

It's based on a card in the Stampin' Up catalog although I used a different green and different stamps.  I really like how it turned out.

Yes, that's supposed to be Greta knocking over the tree...hee hee hee.  This is the reason that we don't have a Christmas tree.  She would either knock it down or eat it or both!  :)

I started working on the card back in February and finished by July.  I didn't work on it every day or anything but just did it little by little.  I hate waiting until the last minute...hee hee hee.

It's hard to see in the photo but the cards stock is shimmery and the pearl spray is sparkly too.  You can never have too much sparkle...hee hee hee.

As I've said before, it's much more difficult to make "manly" cards...no ribbon, rhinestones, fluff, etc...hee hee hee.  I do like how this turned out.  The cord has been retired for about 5 years or maybe even more but I still have plenty in my stash!

This is similar to the December calendar I made.  I had the calendar sitting on my stamping table and Sarah noticed it and said that she liked it and asked Lisa if she made the same one.  Lisa said, "No, I'm going to use the Cricut to cut out a Reindeer for mine" and Sarah's reply was, "Oh."  Hee hee hee...the look on her face was what made us laugh.

Amanda's Christmas Card

As promised, I'm posting this years Christmas card creations.  Wait, cards?  Oh my gosh, I haven't posted a card on my blog since July.  Yikes.  Yes, I still make cards but I spend more time on Facebook now than I do on my blog.  Hmmm, I think I need to change that in 2013.  

First up, the card I made for my oldest niece, Amanda...

When I saw the mitten punch and the stamp set to match, I just had to buy it.  It's so cute.  For this card, I stamped the mittens with Cherry Cobbler and then Stamped them again with Garden Green and just cut off the cuffs and attached them to the mittens.

Wicked at The Fox

We saw Wicked at The Fox on Saturday.  It was the third time we've seen it and it is definitely one of our favorites.  It is here for a 4 week run so it sounds like most of St. Louis loves it too!  It is not one of the shows of the Broadway series but since we are subscribers,  we were able to buy tickets before they went on sale to the general public.  Would you believe that we bought them in October...of last year!  Wow!

After the show, we ate dinner at Copia, one of our favorite restaurants.  We started with the arancini, naturally, because it is super yummy.  I could eat a whole order by myself.  Bill had the roasted chicken and I had the shrimp and grits.  There were 12 shrimp on a bed of creamy spicy grits with andouille sausage.  Yum.  Needless to say, we did not have any room for dessert.

One of the specials was 1 1/2 pounds of crab legs.  The server mentioned that they remove the crab meat from the shell for us and you end up with over a pound of pure crab meat.  We were both sold until we heard the price...$73.  Yikes, no thanks.  I do love crab but not for that price.  I heard our server telling the large table near us about the special but there were no takers there either...hee hee hee.
