The Cardinals lost to the Dodgers in a heart-breaking game last night. Poor Matt Holliday. He failed to catch a ball that would have been the final out in the 9th giving the Cardinals the win. He lost the ball in the lights and ended up tripping in an attempt to catch it. You could just tell by the look on his face that he was devastated. Oh well, the Cardinals return to St. Louis for two more games. Yes, I am confident that the Cards will win both and then return to LA for the final game.
In other not so good news, I had to have a root canal yesterday. I had a tooth that started to bother me in May but the dentist took an x-ray and couldn't find anything wrong. The pain was in a tooth that had been previously crowned so he filed the one edge down a little saying that it was hitting my upper tooth when I bit down and it could possibly have caused a bruised ligament. Well, the pain went away within about a week and has been fine ever since. I even had my regular 6 month checkup in July and everything was dandy. On Monday, I noticed a small swelling at the base of the gum under the same tooth. There was no pain but when the swelling didn't go down by Wednesday, I called the dentist. He took an x-ray and guess what? I had an abscess which is excactly what I thought I had last May. When I think I have a certain ailment, I tend to research it on the internet. I'm not sure if that's good or bad but that's how I diagnosed the Morton's neuroma in my right foot about 5 years ago. Anyway, I was a little ticked that my concerns were dismissed in May, (and yes, I even asked him at the time if it was an abscess) although in all fairness, there really was no indication of an abscess on the x-ray. I saw both x-rays side by side, the one from May and the one on Wednesday, and you could definitely see the difference. So, I had the root canal done yesterday and I'm on amoxicillin until the 17th. I return to the dentist on the 22nd Fun.
We're going to Brickhouse Pub & Grill tonight. I love the pepperjack cheese balls. Yum!
