Woohoo. Jason Isringhausen is out for the rest of the 2008 season. He supposedly has right elbow tendonitis and a tear in his flexor group (whatever that is). Now, before anyone thinks that I'm taking delight in his misfortune, I'm not. It's just that he can't pitch worth a darn even when he isn't "injured" and the Cardinals stand a much better chance of winning the wild card spot without him.
Tony Larussa was quoted as saying, "I definitely think he could pitch next year." WHAT? Tony, are you really that stubborn. What exactly are you trying to prove? Izzy needs to go. He's definitely not worth the 8 million dollars per year that the Cardinals are paying him. I'm not sure that the Cardinals would have any luck trading him because no team in their right mind would want him. Well, maybe one of the teams in the cellar could use him such as Baltimore, Kansas City, Seattle, Washington, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati or San Diego. For the record, I like San Diego and Seattle so maybe one of the other cellar dwellers can take him.
Apparently I'm not the only Cardinal fan who thinks Izzy is past him prime. Check out these sites:

Please Izzy, clean out your locker and go home for good. You've had a good run but it's time for you to hang up your cap and fade into the sunset.
