It's my dad's birthday today. When I was a kid, I would fly kites with my dad. He put the kite line on a fishing pole so you could reel it out and back in again with ease. I was always afraid to let the kite fly too high though because I was afraid it would fly away...hee hee hee. Anyway, when I saw this set by @Stampin' Up, I knew I had to buy it.

Woohoo! Tony LaRussa will manage again. OK, so it's only for one game but I'm excited. He will manage the National League team for the All-Star Game this year. When he announced his retirement, one of the first things I said after getting over the shock was "Will he still manage the National League in the All-Star Game next year?" He certainly deserves this honor!
I've been working on a World Series card for my mom and dad on and off since the Cardinals won the World Series. I had a hard time finding Cardinal scrapbooking items, presumably because everyone was buying them to make cards and scrapbook pages after the amazing win. I finally found some and then Christmas rolled around and kept me busy for a while. Once Christmas was over and the decorations were store for another year, I finally finished card. Good thing too because Spring Training is just weeks away...
It was the Cardinals 11th World Series and it happened in 2011...11 in 11. Here's hoping for 12 in 12.
Our oldest niece, Amanda, turned 16 on January 5. Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby. In fact, when she was about 2 weeks old, she contracted RSV and spent a few weeks in the hospital with tubes in her nose and head. Poor baby. The nurses called her Peanut.

I created the large tag with my Cricut and I used the Papertrey Ink alphabet die to spell "Merry."

I punched out the berries with a circle punch and then added crystal effects and chunky glitter. This was a fairly simple card but I really like the end result.

I just love this stamp set from Papertrey. It's hard to see in the picture but I added Crystal Effects to each of the Christmas bulbs so that they are shiny. I think this card is perfect for a teenage boy, no frills, ribbon, glitter, etc...hee hee hee.

The bird and mittens were actually from a card I received last year. It was adhered to the card with dimensionals so I removed it and kept it for future use. Since Amanda loves birds (and has two; Belle and Peeps), I thought that this was just perfect.
